Well, to expedite things current yacht owners could be asked to choose to have their yacht declared public property (having a plaque with the donors name would be nice,) and after inspection for sea-worthiness and installation of some electronic gear it could be painted grey with vermillion trim to signify that it was not owned. Thereafter anyone with captain papers could, after using the www to locate a suitable yacht, place a reservation on the yacht then go to where it was, perhaps on a grey bike? The captains energy acquisition card would be recognized by the yacht and it could be used (the yacht could also be equipped to determine if the captain was drunk and if so function only on automatic pilot or not at all.) The captains card would be debited with the energy used on a time distance basis and the captain could leave it wherever. Hey, we just took drunk driving out of our lives and without waiting for mishaps and dealing out punishment. Yup! This is social engineering by control of things NOT people.

Yup this would do function wise but would it be fair? For what reason if any would a yacht owner be willing to give his yacht away?

Insisting on keeping ownership of the yacht would most likely involve performing repairs and maintenance personally. When money no longer exists there would not be the usual incentive for anyone to do any owners maintenance or repairs for them. Some of those who have been doing such jobs will not want to continue as their purchasing power will no longer depend upon doing any work still others may be transferred to essential marine services so a yacht owner would likely have to do them personally. Also the energy cost of any items used would need to be deducted from the owners personal energy account. Any yacht donated to the Technate and painted grey would be repaired and maintained by those who want to go yachting sometime or just like to fix and maintain yachts any items required would be provided by the transportation sequence at no direct cost to the captain. We think few yacht owners will choose to not relinquish ownership of their yachts. But is this fair after all someone worked hard and sacrificed to be able to use a yacht whenever it pleased them now they have to stand in a line-up of 650 million other citizens this seems unfair. Hold on! The lineup would be very small only those qualified as captains would be in it. If a citizen who had not donated a yacht wanted the same yacht at the same time as someone who had donated a yacht preference could be given to the yacht donor. In this way fairness and function go hand in hand. All yachts will be in constant use and as space permits new yachts will be build in a brand new ship factory for any qualified citizen to use. The same method as described for yachts providing we agree to do so can be applied to planes, trains, cars, trucks et cetera.

This is usufruct
